If you're here, you're likely looking to understand a little more about me and how I might support you through your journey. Let me share a bit about myself to help you determine if you think we’d be a good fit.
My passion for working with people comes from a deep curiosity about what drives us, how we evolve, and the impact of the people and experiences around us. It’s an absolute privilege to be there with clients during their most vulnerable moments—celebrating successes, facing challenges, and everything in between. Being part of that journey of personal growth is something I deeply value.
My journey to becoming a therapist has been more of a scenic route. I’ve dedicated myself to learning and growing through both education and practical experience. I earned my advanced diploma in Child and Youth Work at Fanshawe College, followed by an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Family Studies at Western University. I then worked in healthcare, supporting individuals and families impacted by the life-altering effects of traumatic brain injuries. During this time, I noticed the strong focus on physical and functional recovery, but also the gaps in mental health support and psychotherapy for those navigating significant loss and life transitions. This realization inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
My approach is focused on evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for both individuals and couples, as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support trauma recovery. I firmly believe that therapy is a partnership, and my goal is to help you feel validated, empowered, and heard throughout the process.
On a personal note, I’m married and have two dogs, along with two cats. After navigating our own fertility challenges, my partner and I are now proud foster parents, which comes with it’s own boat of challenges and deep fulfillment.
Just like many of my clients, I’ve faced my own hurdles and continue to grow through them. Whether it’s managing stress, navigating major life changes, or finding balance in the chaos of life, I’m constantly evolving and learning. This personal journey helps me relate and reminds me that healing and growth are processes we’re all part of.
Outside of my therapy practice, I enjoy going on adventures with my pups, diving into new books (both for fun and professional & personal growth), getting creative with my Cricut projects, and enjoying quality time with my family and friends. These activities help me maintain balance and peace, which is an essential part of my own self-care.
Ultimately, my goal is to create a therapeutic space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Whether you’re facing anxiety, relationship struggles within your family or origin or with your partner, navigating your own fertility journey, or dealing with self-esteem challenges, my intention is to walk alongside you as you process and explore your thoughts and emotions. Therapy is a personal experience, and I strive to meet you where you are, offering support that fits your needs.
The most fulfilling part of this work is witnessing your growth as you take charge of your own journey. It’s incredibly rewarding to see your transformation, especially when you begin to recognize your inner strength and resilience. Clients often shift from seeing themselves as individuals facing challenges to realizing they have the power to overcome the challenges they are experiencing.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me—I truly look forward to the possibility of working together.
